SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 16, 2017) – Marshall Retail Group (MRG), the largest, American-owned airport retailer, is delighted to announce the opening of District Market at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) Terminal 3, which occupies 5,200 square feet of retail space.
Inspired by San Francisco’s distinct neighborhoods, District Market offers an urban shopping experience, comprised of five distinct “districts” – Hype, Fresh, News, Gift and Fashion. Together, these districts form a marketplace, featuring a wide range of local, regional and national retail branded products in every area of the store.
Resembling open-air farmers’ markets, local coffee, tea, sweets and pastry vendors cater sampling events throughout the month. While attracting travelers on the go, a mini-serve coffee and tea station features Ikon Coffee, T-We Tea and City Baking pastries, all local products made in San Francisco. Pre-packaged food, snack and beverage items are also available.
From Feve Chocolates, a San Francisco Chocolatier, to Benny Gold, San Francisco streetwear for men and women, District Market will show visitors what the “Hype” is in the City. A rotating line of products made by various, local artisans will be available year round.
The “Fashion District” offers an urban shopping experience, featuring a wide range of local, regional and national brands. District Market supports the community by featuring local brands like San Franpsycho, a community-based lifestyle brand and custom printing company; Blossom, stylish artisan leather bags; and Frolick Jewelry, a vibrant and vintage designer line of handcrafted accessories. Alongside a collection of brands made in San Francisco, the store also features popular national brands like Herschel, Prana and Under Armour. This extensive range of apparel and accessories is carefully curated for both men and women, distinctly reflecting San Francisco’s unique style.
The concept of traditional newsstand and bookstore is transformed by technology into a re-imagined, modern reading experience. In addition to traditional print media, mobile phones and tablets display the Texture app, which offers on-demand access to hundreds of the most widely read digital magazines. The full catalog can be viewed prior to flights, as well as in the air. Consumers can build their own libraries, receive personalized recommendations, and read anywhere, anytime, even when offline. The Texture app is intuitive and easy to use, providing a great value and convenience for the airport travelers.
