On Monday, April 22,members of the executive team at WH Smith North America, Roddy McOwan, chief development officer, Mary Beth Hawthorne, VP of airports, and Jamie Golladay, regional manager, attended a momentous ribbon cutting celebration at Nashville International Airport (BNA), which recognized a dozen new store openings around the airport. The honored stores included WH Smith North America’s Whiskey Trailhead, Natalie’s Candy Jar, Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum and Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
In addition to this celebratory ribbon cutting, Whiskey Trailhead was recently named as the “Best Local-Inspired Store” at AXN’s 2024 Airport Experience Awards. This prestigious honor recognizes the store’s creative ability to encapsulate Tennessee’s famous Whiskey Trail, which is a popular tour of more than 30 whiskey distilleries across the state. The storeoffers travelers a selection of whiskey bottles and merchandise from various stops along the trail.
The WH Smith North America team was joined by Douglas Kreulen, president and CEO of BNA, Eric Johnson, SVP and chief revenue officer of BNA, and Matt Jennings, VP of Fraport Tennessee at Fraport USA. WH Smith North America’s ACDBE partners Angela Mitchell of Nasah’s Nurture Nature and Marti Emch of MEEL joined the team to celebrate the new concepts as well. Mark De Lelys, VP of revenue for Country Music Hall of Fame, was also in attendance.
“As leading destinations for visitors to Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Hatch Show Print are grateful for the partnership with WH Smith,” shared De Lelys. “Our retail location at the Nashville International Airport provides the opportunity to reinforce our brand to travelers and expand the reach of our nonprofit mission as a museum.”
WH Smith North America proudly operates seven locations at BNA.
